Christmas Crinkle Cookies




Ingredients
  • Pillsbury Purely Simple White Cake Mix
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • Red and green food coloring

Instructions 
  1. Mix eggs, oil and cake mix in a large bowl.
  2. Separate dough into two equal amounts.
  3. In small bowls dye one part red and the other part green. The dough has play dough-like consistency, so I found it easiest to mix the colors by hand.
  4. Refrigerate dough for at least 30 minutes to create fluffier cookies.
  5. Roll tablespoon-size balls of dough in powdered sugar and place on a Silpat or parchment-lined cookie sheet.
  6. Bake for 9-11 minutes at 375 degrees.

Buttermilk Fried Chicken

Ingredients 3.3lb / 1.5kg Chicken divided (see notes) 3-4 cups / 750ml - 1litre Vegetable Oil, or as needed for deep frying (see notes) Wet Mix 2 cups / 500ml Buttermilk 1 tsp each: Paprika, Cayenne Pepper, White Pepper, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Salt Dry Mix 2.5 cups / 375g Plain Flour 1 tbsp Paprika 2 tsp each: Oregano, Baking Powder 1.5 tsp Salt, plus extra to sprinkle at the end 1 tsp each: Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Cayenne Pepper 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Instructions In a bowl, combine the wet mix with your chicken, ensuring it's fully coated by the marinade.
